BIOGRAPHY

Making her musical debut in the San Francisco bay area, Cristina strums it up Americana-style with Water and Wine. Water and Wine is her first compilation of original vocal melodies and acoustic guitar rhythms. Her style lies somewhere on the continuum between old school folk and folk/rock with a touch of noir. Her voice is gritty and soulful with a measure of honey, and a delivery that captures the essence of truth. Experience her music and decide for yourself.

Cristina's interest in music began in her younger years as a classically trained cellist. Over the course of her 10 year stint with the cello, she played in many local orchestras, toured Southeast Asia with the Long Island Youth Symphony Orchestra, and was a member of the Garden State Philharmonic Orchestra in her home state of New Jersey. Cristina was also the founding and managing member of the Arioso String Quartet, which was a small group frequently hired to provide music for weddings, parties, and functions. Feeling that she needed a change, Cristina decided to put down her cello and move to California where she once again found a place to foster her love of creating and performing music. Only this time, it's with her voice, guitar, and musical influences like Joni Mitchell, Nina Simone, Mary Coughlan, Mark Lanegan, Stephin Merritt, and Nick Drake.

Initially established as a one-woman show, Cristina can sometimes be heard with a backup vocalist and guitarist, adding a unique dimension to her music. Either as a duo or solo act, Cristina, grooving with her brooding lyrics and soul touching melodies, gives a moving performance.
